I bought this game for my daughter for christmas, she loves the game. She loves to customize the characters, and sing. What amazes me is that the company spent so much time with the customization of character and venue, but forgot the music part. I bought the game for the wii, I was told that you could download new music, but i just found out the wii version does not have that option. It cost more, but doesn't have that option. Surprise Surprise.. It's only been a few days and my daughter already wants new songs to sing to, and I just found out I spent 50 dollars for a game that i can't add new music too. If i had known that I wouldn't have bought it. In a couple weeks that game will end up collecting dust, because everyone is tired of the same song over and over again. I'd like to know if the company is going to make a patch to fix this problem...

Good mix of songs, great customization for your avatar and stages. I am not sure why people are complaining about the song list and it's the real songs not covers of the songs. Everything from Coldplay, Pink, Lady Gaga, Pat Benetar, REM, Rhianna, David Bowie, Talking Heads, Katy Perry, The Killers, The Fray, Flock of Seagulls, Kings of Leon, Tears for Fears etc. Very fun mix (I am an 80's child) but like the newer stuff as well.

"Karaoke Revolution" for the Wii is the one game I have worn out several times after creating several characters, completing all of the song challenges to get "platinum status", and trying to nail most of the songs like Katy Perry's "I Kissed A Girl" or Miley Cyrus' "7 Things" on Expert level. The overall songlist is not that bad, including Lady Gaga's "Just Dance", P!nk's "So What", and Coldplay's "Viva La Vida". However, I think younger players will have a hard time trying to sing 70's and 80's hits like: Rod Stewart's "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy", Ashford & Simpson's "Solid", "Space Oddity" by David Bowie, or "The Logical Song" by Supertramp. It was obvious that Karaoke Revolution also included a sort of "tribute" to Michael Jackson since there were at least five songs sung by him but "Dancing Machine" and "ABC" were extremely hard songs to attempt. Overall, the songs and the character creator were lots of fun to play with but the game became tiresome quickly. The majority of the songs are geared towards today's younger generation or an 80's junkie since there are several one-hit wonders featured. You can create/edit characters, venues, and even make a party list for Karaoke-ing with friends and family, modify game settings like sound, microphone setup, gameplay, button colors, and calibrate the audio/video for your TV for Standard (CRT) TVs, LCD TVs, or Plasma TVs. You can check out the extras to check statistics on how many times each song has been played or scored, and unlock your progress in how far you've completed "career mode gigs" to unlock venue items. Most importantly, when you begin to make your song selections, you can either choose Quick Play, Custom Play (with personal venues or characters), Career Mode (to score up to the highest rating of "International Star" in completing medleys, a half or a full song by completion or Silver Skill points), sing Duets with friends or family, Party Mode to create a continuous set list of songs, or Jukebox (which is about the same as Custom Play). Note that before you select "Sing", select your difficulty of Easy, Medium, Hard, or Expert, depending how challenging you want to be scored on.

The game is fun enough but will get board quickly as there arent any secret songs that get onlocked. The more points you get the more venue's you on lock. Who really care's about the venue's? So there isnt much motivation to keep going in the game as you dont get anything really for moving forward.
It wouldnt be so bad but the original song selection isnt the best. Not very many classic songs that everyone would know.
I was also disappointed to find out with the Wii version you cant purchase any more songs to download so we are stuck with the 50 songs it comes with.
I's also like to mention that the song selection isnt family friendly. Some of the songs have swearign and are crude. If your getting this for your younger children you might want to get a different one. One of the songs titled "Smile" actually uses the "F" word.
